IT/EDA Systems Engineer

About the role

Falcomm, which makes high-performance, energy-efficient RF power amplifier products, is looking for an IT/EDA Systems Engineer in Atlanta. The role sits at the intersection of IT infrastructure, Linux engineering environments and semiconductor design toolchains, overseeing the reliability and scalability of enterprise infrastructure while supporting EDA tools, simulation clusters and Linux compute environments used by engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking and virtualization environments
• Deploy, maintain and optimize EDA environments used for RFIC and semiconductor design
• Administer Cadence design tools and related toolchains
• Maintain EDA license servers and license utilization
• Maintain Linux-based compute clusters used for simulation and verification, and optimize them for EDA workloads
• Work with the external Managed Service Provider (MSP) to maintain IT systems, troubleshoot issues and resolve support tickets
• Maintain Linux infrastructure (RHEL / Ubuntu / CentOS) and high-performance storage systems for design data
• Develop scripts and automation to improve reliability and efficiency, and automate provisioning, configuration and monitoring with Python, Bash or similar tools
• Manage corporate IT infrastructure including servers, networking and cloud services, authentication systems, backups and disaster recovery
• Support internal teams with their infrastructure needs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT or a related field
• 3-5+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure or engineering compute environments
• Experience supporting EDA tools and managing software license servers
• Full-time, onsite work in Atlanta, GA

Required skills

• Strong Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Understanding of networking, storage systems and engineering compute infrastructure
• Preferred: experience with RFIC, ASIC or semiconductor design teams, HPC or distributed compute systems, and automation tools such as Python, Bash and Ansible
• Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation
