IT Technician

About the role

Situation Group is seeking an IT Technician to provide day‑to‑day desktop and network support for its fast‑paced, digital‑first advertising agency in midtown Manhattan. Reporting to the Director of IT, you will be the first point of contact for designers, account managers and executives, ensuring technology runs smoothly under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for a mixed macOS and Windows workstation environment.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot software across multiple departments.
• Monitor and maintain internal network performance for large media file transfers and cloud backups.
• Deploy, image, and repair laptops, desktops and peripherals such as Wacom tablets and monitors.
• Set up and troubleshoot AV and presentation equipment in conference rooms.
• Lead onboarding and IT orientation for new hires, preparing hardware, software and access permissions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of professional IT support experience, preferably in a creative or production environment.
• Active CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical staff.

Required skills

• macOS and Windows troubleshooting.
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
• Imaging and hardware repair of laptops, desktops and peripherals.
• AV conference‑room equipment setup.
