IT Support Specialist

About the role

As an IT Support Specialist in New York, you will own the day‑to‑day IT operations for one of Sierra’s fastest‑growing offices. You’ll be the first point of contact for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring the office runs smoothly for both in‑person and remote teammates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line macOS troubleshooting, application support, and network connectivity assistance for New York employees.
• Manage the global IT helpdesk queue during regional hours, triaging, resolving, and handing off tickets across time zones.
• Oversee the full device lifecycle: procurement, deployment, inventory tracking, loaner pool, and off‑boarding re‑provisioning.
• Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment in conference rooms, ensuring every meeting space is ready.
• Partner with Facilities and AV integrators to spec, stage, and commission IT for new office build‑outs and moves.
• Coordinate network issues with ISPs and building vendors, and administer SaaS tools such as Okta and Google Workspace.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of hands‑on IT support or systems administration experience, preferably in a fast‑paced or startup environment.
• Strong macOS expertise and comfort with endpoint management (e.g., Jamf) and identity tooling (e.g., Okta).
• Experience supporting highly technical users, with a hypothesis‑driven troubleshooting approach.
• Ability to manage competing requests in a shared global queue and communicate priorities clearly.
• Organized, execution‑focused, and able to work independently while knowing when to escalate.
