IT Support Specialist – User & Hardware Support

About the role

Slate is seeking an energetic IT Support Specialist to deliver comprehensive desktop, mobile and user support for its Troy, MI location and remote users. The role focuses on maintaining system reliability, security and compliance while providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support via Jira Service Desk for hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
• Install, configure and maintain computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM, hard drives and network interface cards.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and manage software installations, upgrades and device drivers.
• Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity problems involving LAN cables, switches and routers.
• Deliver remote assistance using remote‑desktop tools, phone or email.
• Create and update documentation, user manuals and knowledge‑base articles.
• Perform routine system updates, patches and backups to ensure reliability and security.
• Collaborate with second‑level support and network administrators for complex issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a helpdesk, desktop support or systems administration role.
• 1+ years of experience as a Microsoft Administrator managing O365 environments.
