IR Technologist – Full Time – Days – On Call

About the role

Ochsner is seeking an IR Technologist to join the interventional radiology team. The role involves preparing for and scrubbing into interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and high‑quality imaging.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedure details for accuracy.
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent.
• Operate imaging equipment independently according to protocol.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Perform timely quality‑control procedures and report any issues.
• Assist with departmental operations such as inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and needs.

Required profile

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA‑approved school.
• ARRT registration and LSRTBE licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Preferred: 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology and advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology.

• Computer skills including data entry and Windows‑style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
