IPT Lead Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead Engineer to drive the development of advanced anti‑ballistic missile and next‑generation ICBM hardware for customers such as Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. Based onsite in Buffalo, NY, the role offers technical autonomy and the chance to shape multi‑year defense programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review, design, development and implementation of complex actuation and avionics systems.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, external partners and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain multi‑year engineering plans, ensuring compliance with testing, maintenance and regulatory requirements.
• Manage staffing, resource allocation and future engineering needs to support business growth.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the program, providing guidance and problem‑solving support.

Required profile

• U.S. security clearance S (TS preferred) or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience (5+ years with a Master’s degree).
• Proven ability to quickly grasp new concepts and deliver solutions on schedule.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
