Investment Banking Associate – Life Sciences (BioPharma)

About the role

Jefferies Global Healthcare Group is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Life Sciences team, focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. The role involves supporting a range of advisory and capital‑markets transactions for leading biopharma companies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of equity and debt financings, sell‑side and buy‑side M&A, restructuring and strategic advisory deals.
• Perform financial valuation analyses including DCF, LBO, precedent transactions and comparable companies.
• Prepare pitch books, offering memoranda, management presentations and other client‑facing materials.
• Build and maintain detailed financial operating and valuation models.
• Conduct industry, product and market research to support deal rationale.
• Collaborate with senior bankers and cross‑functional teams across the firm, including ECM, leveraged finance and private capital groups.
• Participate in client meetings and help nurture long‑term relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of healthcare investment banking experience, preferably in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Detail‑oriented with strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously.
• Self‑starter who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Currently based in New York or willing to relocate.
