Inventory Control Associate (Night Shift, 5pm-1:30am)

About the role

HD Supply is hiring an Inventory Control Associate for its distribution center, working the night shift from 5pm to 1:30am. The associate acts as the point of contact for inventory-related tasks and issues, operates material handling equipment to move inventory within the facility, and works under general supervision following well-defined policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain inventory by recording all received and stocked merchandise.
• Complete and review cycle counts, maintain inventory adjustments and audit inventory so systems match daily order processing.
• Research and resolve inventory issues, adjustments and discrepancies according to internal control procedures.
• Determine the appropriate placement of inventory based on size, selling volume and other factors.
• Assist with loading damaged merchandise into delivery vehicles using powered and non-powered equipment.
• Maintain quality and inventory control manuals and perform general warehouse duties as needed.
• Refer complex or unusual problems to the supervisor; work involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Required profile

• Generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; specialized skills training or certification may be required.
• Preferred: prior experience in inventory control and operating material handling equipment.
• Work environment is indoors, mostly sitting or standing in the same place, with occasional lifting of light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds); no travel required.
