Interventional Radiology RN – Cleveland Clinic

About the role

The Interventional Radiology RN provides nursing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. Working day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, the RN supports a high‑acuity environment that includes vascular and non‑vascular interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and the procedural team during central line placement, angiograms, angioplasty/stenting, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, embolization, drain placements, biliary and nephrostomy interventions, and tumor‑directed therapies.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures, administer and titrate sedation as appropriate, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Perform nursing assessments, document findings, notify physicians of abnormal results, and provide telephone triage.
• Administer medications and treatments, maintain core competencies (CPR, BLS, ACLS), and cover other nursing roles as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support within six months of hire.
• At least one year of recent RN experience (or two years LPN experience in the same department) and preferably two years of recent RN experience.
• Preferred: BSN, ICU experience, and certifications such as CRNI or VA‑BC within three years of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency in central line placement and vascular access techniques.
• Experience with angiography, angioplasty, stenting, embolization, and other image‑guided interventions.
• Ability to administer and monitor sedation and manage moderate‑ to high‑acuity cases.
• Competence in CPR, BLS, and ACLS protocols.
