Interventional Radiologic Technologist – Full Time

About the role

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist operates diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound equipment in the Interventional Laboratory, assisting physicians and RN throughout patient care. This full‑time position prepares procedure rooms, manages equipment, and ensures accurate transmission of imaging data.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and procedures to assure accuracy.
• Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates imaging equipment according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images before transmission to meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Completes timely quality‑control procedures in line with regulatory standards.
• Assists with departmental operations such as inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.
• Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communication preferences.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA‑approved school.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software packages.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
