International Trip Planning Consultant

About the role

Thomson Safaris, a travel company founded 45 years ago, is looking for an International Trip Planning Consultant in its Boston office. You will manage a pipeline of incoming leads, helping them choose destinations and create itineraries so they can book their dream vacation. Training and support are provided, and you will work independently while contributing to the team's goals.

Key responsibilities

• Become an expert on the international travel destinations offered.
• Communicate by phone and email every day, responding promptly, accurately and thoroughly to move leads through the pipeline.
• Nurture the lead pipeline creatively and resourcefully to meet personal and team goals.
• Create engaging travel itineraries and work with international operators to ensure services are delivered to specification.
• Stay organized in communications and trip plans, with attention to detail.
• Provide periodic support to current travelers and share responsibility for the emergency support phone.

Required profile

• A minimum of four years of sales experience in the hospitality industry.
• Positive attitude, friendly, calm and patient demeanor.
• Ability to handle high-end clients professionally and respect colleagues.

Required skills

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and good time management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and critical thinking.
