Intermodal Dispatcher

About the role

MEDLOG USA is seeking an Intermodal Dispatcher to serve as the primary communication hub between customers, contractors, and internal teams. You will ensure loads are assigned efficiently, keep stakeholders informed, and support smooth operations across the intermodal network.

Key responsibilities

• Assign loads to contractors promptly and monitor their schedules.
• Update Customer Service Representatives on daily developments.
• Track contractor Hours of Service (HOS) and prioritize routes to maximize turnaround.
• Maintain accurate records in the TMS, including delays, yard stops, and missed appointments.
• Communicate critical information such as traffic, obstacles, and appointment times to contractors.
• Handle contractor pay details, chassis availability, and appointment scheduling.
• Track order costs, billing information, and completed delivery data.
• Manage empty container movements and plan repositioning.
• Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls, documenting essential details.
• Ensure cut‑off times are met for timely deliveries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 1‑3 years of experience in the intermodal industry, preferably in dispatch.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay detail‑oriented, and prioritize effectively.
