Intensivist Physician – Critical Care in Maryland

About the role

The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a board‑certified Intensivist to provide high‑quality critical care across multiple intensive care units in Towson, MD. You will join a multidisciplinary team in a 20‑bed Medical‑Surgical ICU, a 6‑bed Cardiac Surgery ICU and a 6‑bed Intermediate Care Unit, delivering round‑the‑clock patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the Medical‑Surgical, Cardiac Surgery and Intermediate Care units.
• Participate in a rotating schedule with day co‑coverage alongside another physician and night coverage with advanced practice providers.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate treatment plans, and ensure adherence to hospital protocols.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and education of trainees.

Required profile

• Medical license to practice in the state of Maryland.
• Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine.
• Experience in managing adult ICU patients, preferably in surgical and cardiac settings.
