Instructor – Welding & Joining Technology (10‑Month)

About the role

Join the State of Georgia as an Instructor in Welding and Joining Technology for a 10‑month fixed‑term position. You will lead classroom and hands‑on training, ensuring students acquire the skills needed for successful careers in the welding industry.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in welding and joining techniques.
• Develop program outlines, lesson plans, and course objectives for technical/occupational courses.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain documentation, reports, and certification requirements.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and budget requests for the training area.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in the workshop.
• Collaborate with staff, educators, and industry partners on recruitment, retention, and job placement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Required profile

• Current welding certification or professional credential.
• Minimum three years of welding/joining work experience (preferred five years).
• Associate’s degree in Welding and Joining Technology or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical instruction.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
