Instructor & Program Director, Medical Laboratory Technology

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks an experienced educator to lead and teach in its Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. This position combines program administration with classroom, laboratory, and online instruction, ensuring the program meets national accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the MLT program.
• Ensure full compliance with NAACLS accreditation standards.
• Deliver on‑campus, laboratory, and online teaching for core laboratory subjects.
• Oversee student clinical education and coordinate placements with affiliated healthcare facilities.
• Maintain laboratory safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (CLIA).

Required profile

• Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current national certification (MLS, MT, or MLT) through ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent NAACLS‑recognized body.
• Minimum three years of experience in classroom teaching, clinical instruction, or clinical laboratory work in areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, or blood banking.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical laboratory practices, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
• Experience in program administration or leadership.
