About the role

The Institutional Services Assistant provides essential custodial support for the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus. The role involves maintaining clean and safe indoor and outdoor environments for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors; strip and wax as needed.
  • Empty waste baskets, replace trash bags, and manage recycling.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, restocking paper towels and tissue.
  • Wipe down furniture, desktops, tables, and other surfaces.
  • Use pressure washer for exterior windows and other outdoor items.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Occasionally work beyond 40 hours and be on‑call as required.

Required profile

  • Basic education or training sufficient to read and write; related experience may substitute.
  • Physical ability to lift ~25 lb, climb stairs repeatedly, squat, bend, and extend arms overhead.
  • Flexibility to perform frequent standing, walking, grasping, pulling, pushing, and occasional climbing, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow safety protocols.
