Insert Technician I – Orthotic/Prosthetic Fabrication

About the role

The Insert Technician fabricates shoe‑insert orthoses, ensuring optimal fit, function, cosmetics, and workmanship. You will stay current with new fabrication techniques, understand material properties, and operate specialized equipment safely.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair orthotic devices according to company quality and quantity standards.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Follow all safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to fabricate and repair prostheses and orthoses to specifications.
• Strong mechanical ability and hand‑eye coordination for using laboratory tools.
• Good organizational, time‑management, and planning skills.
• Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to integrity and patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Fabrication of orthotic shoe inserts.
• Repair of prosthetic limbs and orthopedic braces.
• Use of orthotic laboratory equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of material properties relevant to orthoses.
