Inpatient Rehab Services Supervisor

About the role

The Inpatient Rehab Services Supervisor leads the day‑to‑day operations of the rehab department, providing clinical and technical support to staff while ensuring compliance with federal, state and payer regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily management of the department, including workflow, staffing patterns, program development and inventory control.
• Coordinate clinical treatment programs in line with state practice acts and monitor statistical guidelines and metrics.
• Serve as preceptor/mentor for new staff, delegating tasks according to competency and scope of practice.
• Maintain productivity standards, provide training, coaching and feedback, and ensure accurate patient documentation.
• Participate in staff education, research initiatives and professional writing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in the specialty area (preferred 3 years).
• Current state license as a physical therapist, PT assistant, occupational therapist, OT assistant, or speech‑language pathologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong leadership abilities to guide and develop staff.
• Ability to travel between facilities as needed.
