Industrial Engineer – Composite (Aerosystems)

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking an Industrial Engineer specialized in composites to support the production of large‑scale aerostructures for the A350 XWB. The role will act as the manufacturing‑engineering focal point for composite processes, driving improvements and ensuring compliance across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide process security and advisory for composite manufacturing, ensuring compliance with AIPI/AIPS standards and other regulations.
• Review existing AIPI/S procedures, implement them on‑site, and coordinate with other plants to share best practices.
• Lead composite process improvement projects that protect the A350 ramp‑up and propose new initiatives to increase efficiency and quality.
• Support the site’s ramp‑up activities, offering technical guidance to management and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Engineering background (mechanical, manufacturing or related) with experience in composite technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to advise and support production sites on process compliance and improvement.
• Strong communication skills to act as interface with the broader composite community.

Required skills

• Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and standards (AIPI/AIPS).
• Experience with process security, validation and continuous improvement.
