Industrial Assembly Engineer

About the role

The Industrial Assembly Engineer will join Airbus Aerosystems Kinston’s engineering team to develop and optimise jigs, tools and machinery used in the assembly of large composite aerostructures. Working on the shop floor, you will support the production of critical components for the Airbus A350 XWB.

Key responsibilities

• Define and prepare specifications for jigs and tooling required for part and component assembly.
• Create technical documentation for tenders and assist in supplier down‑selection.
• Analyse supplier technical capabilities and ensure compliance with Airbus standards.
• Maintain alignment of specification processes with Airbus regulations.
• Provide technical guidance to production during critical disturbances, including problem solving and practical problem‑solving (PPS) activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and manufacturing engineering networks to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in industrial assembly or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to develop specifications for jigs, tools and machinery.
• Strong analytical skills for supplier and standards evaluation.
• Excellent problem‑solving orientation and ability to work cross‑functionally.
