Independently Licensed Clinician - Mobile Crisis Team

About the role

Families and Youth Innovations Plus (FYI+) is hiring an independently licensed clinician for its Mobile Crisis team in Doña Ana County. The clinician works with a two-person provider team that responds in person to behavioral health crisis dispatches when appropriate, providing timely support at the scene, and also conducts remote mental health assessments and makes disposition recommendations. The position reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is exempt.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to crisis calls and conduct remote risk assessments where indicated
• Provide trauma-informed service, de-escalation and crisis intervention
• Develop safety plans and coordinate the appropriate level of care
• Facilitate warm handoffs to higher levels of care or ongoing care navigation
• Document all clinical interventions according to program standards
• Collaborate with emergency services, mental health facilities and community providers

Required profile

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related behavioral health field
• Current independent and unrestricted professional license valid in New Mexico
• 2+ years of experience in crisis services, emergency psychiatry or similar settings
• Experience with risk assessments, crisis intervention, and with both adults and youth in crisis
• Bilingual preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric conditions and crisis modalities
• Training in suicide prevention and trauma-informed care
• Familiarity with community resources and referral networks
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
