Group Therapy Therapist (LPCC/LMFT)

About the role

Families & Youth Innovations Plus (FYI+) is seeking an independently licensed mental health counselor (LPCC or LMFT) to serve as a Group Therapy Therapist in its Outpatient Services department. The therapist provides direct clinical services by facilitating and supervising evidence-based group therapy, ensuring participant outcomes and therapeutic quality across all group programming. The position reports to the Program Manager and is salaried and exempt.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate therapeutic groups using evidence-based modalities such as psycho-educational, process, skill-building and DBT skills groups.
• Provide group therapy and related services in line with agency and contract standards.
• Oversee and supervise non-independently licensed clinicians and paraprofessionals in group therapy.
• Maintain timely, accurate client records in the EHR system and ensure continuity of care for participants.
• Collaborate with team members on client care and group progress, and work with clinical supervisors, case managers, peer support workers and community support workers.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation within group settings when needed.

Required profile

• Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling or Family and Marriage Therapy.
• Current independent New Mexico state license (LPCC or LMFT).
• Clinical supervision certification, or willingness to obtain it within two months of hire.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours.
• Strong emotional resilience and stress management skills.

Preferred: bilingual (English/Spanish). Salary ranges from $70,000 to $84,700 depending on experience and education.
