Income Tax Accountant

About the role

Ryan is hiring an Income Tax Accountant in Plano who will handle the firm's tax compliance for federal and state income and franchise tax filings. The role works with businesses, service providers and other tax professionals, and with financial management within the firm and possibly third-party service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns, including related analysis and support
• Prepare federal and state tax estimated payments, including related analysis and support
• Prepare and develop state apportionment and other tax compliance schedules
• Research as needed to ensure proper compliance with state and local tax jurisdictions
• Assist in preparing responses to audit inquiries on federal, state income tax and state and local filings
• Prepare statistical and financial reports as needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• One to two years of corporate tax and/or public accounting experience preferred
• Demonstrated hands-on approach and success in a team-based environment
• Ability to work independently
• Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm and with external vendors

Required skills

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access, and internet research
• Experience with ERP systems
• Workday software experience preferred but not necessary
