Import Logistics Manager

About the role

The Import Logistics Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end import operations in a product‑driven consumer goods business. This individual contributor role oversees the full import lifecycle, from documentation and customs compliance to freight negotiation, invoice control, and 3PL coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate freight agreements with carriers, forwarders and 3PL partners, audit freight invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage relationships with 3PL warehouses, coordinate drayage and domestic routing, and monitor vendor performance.
• Ensure import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, customs paperwork) is accurate, audit‑ready and retained for regulatory review.
• Monitor shipments through customs, resolve holds or delays, and apply HTS classification and ACE portal processes for duty assessment.
• Maintain import order data in the ERP system, update shipment status, and keep real‑time tracking sheets for 200‑300 container loads annually.
• Serve as primary point of contact for freight forwarders, trucking companies, warehouses and internal sales teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in import logistics, freight coordination or supply‑chain operations, preferably in consumer goods or e‑commerce.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance, HTS classification, ACE portal navigation and import documentation.
• Proven ability to negotiate with freight forwarders, carriers and 3PL providers and audit freight invoices.
• Familiarity with Asia‑Pacific supply chains and overseas manufacturing lead times.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high organizational ability.
