Implementation Manager - Embedded Finance

About the role

Airwallex, a financial operating system used by hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide, is hiring an Implementation Manager for its Merchant Services team. The role owns end-to-end delivery of complex client integrations for enterprise partners, shopping carts and payment gateways, turning agreed business requirements and solution designs into actionable plans. It sits at the intersection of Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product and Operations, and can be based in San Francisco or New York (3 days in office).

Key responsibilities

• Translate agreed business requirements and solution proposals into project delivery plans, operating rhythms and execution strategies.
• Own project management for client product integrations, including internal and external communication, risk and dependency management, and coordination of onboarding, configuration, testing/certification and pilot/launch.
• Lead delivery in collaboration with integration engineers and technical stakeholders, and drive a core project team across pre-delivery, delivery and post-delivery phases.
• Coordinate approvals from legal, compliance, privacy, risk, operations, finance and product teams.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to prioritise requirements and balance roadmap constraints with client timelines.
• Work with the PMO or program functions to align delivery milestones with product roadmaps.
• Apply professional services and project management practices (governance, RAID logs, KPIs, status reporting) and track metrics such as time-to-go-live and launch quality.
• Run structured post-launch reviews to improve integration playbooks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in Product Delivery Management or Project Management, managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology or financial services implementations.
• 5+ years of professional services or client-facing delivery experience in a high-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience with global payment products or technology-led business solutions, able to turn product capabilities into integration plans.
• Proven track record delivering cross-functional projects with stakeholders including C-level executives.
• Preferred: large-scale partner integrations in fintech, payments or regulated industries; hands-on work with integration engineers and solution architects on API-based integrations; project management or agile certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master); enterprise account management experience.
