Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will work closely with the HR Manager and the broader HR team to support a range of HR programs and administrative functions. This position combines office support, data entry, and participation in special projects to help maintain efficient HR operations at Dot Foods.

Key responsibilities

• Perform duties supporting HR programs such as benefits, recruiting, payroll, Workers' Comp, OSHA reporting and unemployment.
• Gather information, maintain accurate records, and follow up on outstanding items for recurring HR processes.
• Provide front‑desk coverage, answer phones, and maintain conference rooms and office areas on a rotational basis.
• Attend and support recruiting, charitable, and community events to promote the company brand and attract talent.
• Use communication tools like SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Yodeck to disseminate information across the distribution center.
• Apply lean thinking to identify and eliminate waste in daily tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Intermediate‑to‑advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform keyboard functions throughout the shift.
• Conscientious handling of confidential employee records.
• Professional communication and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
