Human Resources Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Human Resources Specialist to manage the back‑office functions that keep our people operations running smoothly. The role involves hands‑on administration across onboarding, benefits, payroll, compliance and HR records for a US‑based organization.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate new‑hire onboarding, offer processing, I‑9/E‑Verify, HRIS data entry and off‑boarding.
• Administer benefits enrollment, open enrollment, qualifying life events, leave of absence (FMLA/ADA) and COBRA through carrier and broker portals.
• Process payroll, timekeeping, deductions, garnishments, corrections and off‑cycle payments.
• Reconcile payroll registers, GL entries, benefits invoices and post to pay cycles.
• Manage vendor relationships for benefits carriers, HRIS configuration, EEOC/ACA reporting, unemployment claims and audits.
• Maintain employee records, handle document releases and support day‑to‑day HR office operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of daily, hands‑on experience in an HR administrative or people‑operations back‑office role.
• Currently working in an HR administrative position within the United States.
• Strong knowledge of HR processes covering onboarding, benefits, payroll, compliance and record keeping.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS/HCM platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paycom, BambooHR, Rippling or Gusto.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits‑administration portals.
• Use of ATS/onboarding tools for candidate and employee lifecycle management.
