HR Manager - Product Management

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an HR Manager for its Store Support Center (SSC) Human Resources team. The manager partners with functional management on business decisions related to associates and supports all HR activity for the client group, including talent management, organization effectiveness, associate relations, compensation, performance management, benefits, learning, staffing and organizational transformation. The role also supports company-wide HR initiatives for the designated client group.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate associate relations issues, identify breaches of culture and values, analyze turnover and develop retention strategies, and ensure adherence to company policy, procedures and employment law.
• Partner with management to recruit for exempt and non-exempt positions: source candidates, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and ensure compliance with pre-employment screening, offer letters and FCRA notification.
• Plan and take part in job fairs and college career fairs, and conduct new associate orientation.
• Coach managers on performance management and associate development plans, follow up on training participation, and provide leadership coaching (360s).
• Work with management to identify backup and emerging talent, analyze diversity and take action to improve the candidate pool.
• Contribute to the HR review, represent HR in corporate-wide initiatives, and deliver training on HR issues and associate orientations.
• Drive compensation and performance management for the client group, including creating new role descriptions and updating them.

Required profile

• Human resources generalist or related experience of 3-5 years; 5 years strongly preferred.
• Management experience of 2+ years; experience leading organizational transformation, change management and large-scale initiatives preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Able to work legally in the United States; typically reports to a Director or VP Human Resources.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HR specialties including employment law, employee relations, staffing, training and compensation.
• Sound knowledge of federal, state and local employment law.
• Coaching, counseling, negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
