HR Manager Consultant (Remote)

About the role

A fast-growing, fully remote advisory firm covering CFO advisory, outsourced accounting and HR services is seeking an HR Manager Consultant. You will provide comprehensive HR support to clients across many industries, working closely with the CHRO Client Services team and acting as a trusted advisor who ensures compliance with employment laws. The work is done remotely from a home office, with flexible hours to fit clients' needs.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with clients on their HR needs and give advice on employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation and benefits
• Develop tailored HR policies and procedures and help implement them
• Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions and grievance investigations
• Support recruitment and onboarding, and advise on talent retention, career development and succession planning
• Help design performance evaluation frameworks and improve employee engagement
• Keep clients' HR practices compliant with federal, state and local employment laws, including audits and investigations
• Identify training needs and run workshops on HR topics
• Administer benefit programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, life, disability) and coordinate open enrollment and leave requests
• Assess HR technology needs and help implement HRIS and other HR software

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (Master's preferred)
• 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in consulting or professional services, with experience serving multiple clients
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
• Knowledge of California employment laws required; experience with non-profits a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills, with excellent communication and confidentiality
