HR Director – Healthcare Operations

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on, strategic HR Director to lead and scale human‑resources operations for a fast‑growing outpatient orthopedic physical‑therapy provider. The role partners with clinic leadership to drive workforce planning, employee experience and compliance across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executive and clinic directors on staffing, retention and new clinic launches.
• Provide employee‑relations guidance, performance‑management support and culture‑building initiatives.
• Serve as primary administrator of the Rippling HRIS, creating workflows for onboarding, job changes and off‑boarding while ensuring data accuracy and audit readiness.
• Oversee health, dental, vision, retirement and ancillary benefits, manage open enrollment and act as liaison with vendors.
• Own the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding for new‑grad and experienced clinicians, off‑boarding, and leave‑of‑absence programs.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and keep HR policies and the employee handbook up to date.
• Lead HR projects that support clinic expansion, process improvement and employee‑experience enhancements.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of HR experience with leadership responsibility, preferably in healthcare or multi‑site environments.
• Strong knowledge of benefits administration and employment‑law compliance.
• Experience launching or scaling outpatient physical‑therapy or rehabilitation operations is a plus.
• Professional HR certification (SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
