Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees cleanliness standards across guestrooms, public areas, and back‑of‑the‑house at the Hyatt Centric Wall Street Hotel. The role reports to the Director of Housekeeping and ensures high guest satisfaction through effective staff supervision and operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and monitor staff workload, conduct visual and written inspections of rooms and public spaces.
• Maintain inventory levels, conduct periodic inventories of linens, supplies and equipment.
• Manage in‑house laundry operations and oversee lost‑and‑found logs.
• Act as Manager on Duty, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Track guest satisfaction surveys, respond to guest comments, and resolve complaints.
• Interview, hire, train, develop, and evaluate housekeeping staff, ensuring performance appraisals are completed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience with at least 3 years in housekeeping management.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience managing in‑house laundry operations.
• Ability to handle guest interactions with patience, tact and diplomacy.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and hospitality safety standards.
• Proficiency in inventory control and lost‑and‑found procedures.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
