About the role

Loews Coral Gables Hotel, a AAA Four-Diamond property in The Plaza Coral Gables, is hiring a Housekeeping Houseperson. The team supports 242 guestrooms, four dining outlets, a spa, fitness center, rooftop pool and 30,000 square feet of event space. The role reports to the Housekeeping Department and covers cleaning public guest room areas and maintaining common areas.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all public guest room areas of the hotel as assigned and help maintain public restrooms, lobby levels, ashtrays, elevators, stairwells, entrances and hallways
• Follow radio etiquette, respond to and close HotSOS requests using the radio, and help room attendants empty trash and soiled linen from carts
• Clean back-of-the-house windows as needed, vacuum guest hallways daily and use chemicals according to department procedures
• Maintain linen closets clean, stocked and organized, wash guest room glassware and bring dirty glassware to housekeeping at the end of the shift
• Bring trash to the compactor at the end of the day and perform other duties directed by management
• Report problems promptly, attend departmental meetings and training, comply with safety and emergency procedures, recycle and stay current on hotel information

Required profile

• Previous experience is an asset
• Basic English language skills
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills
• Physical demands: standing and walking over two-thirds of the time, lifting and carrying up to 150 pounds, and special vision requirements (close, distance, peripheral and depth vision)
