Housekeeper 1 – Full-Time (Variable Shifts)

About the role

The Housekeeper 1 provides daily cleaning services for patient rooms, ancillary areas, and office spaces at Phelps Health Hospital, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient rooms and ancillary areas each day following established procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain office spaces according to policy, using appropriate cleaning agents.
• Keep housekeeping carts, janitor closets, and equipment organized and locked when not in use.
• Complete daily cleaning logs accurately and submit them to the supervisor.
• Report any issues such as equipment failure, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to the supervisor or Plant Operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• 0‑3 months of housekeeping or floor‑care experience (on‑the‑job training provided).
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, reach, twist, lift up to 40 lb, and push linen carts weighing up to 300 lb.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete daily paperwork.

Required skills

• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and operate housekeeping equipment.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
