House Attendant

About the role

Residence Inn by Marriott West Orange is hiring a House Attendant in West Orange, NJ. The position pays $17.50 per hour and involves keeping public hotel areas clean and tidy while supporting guest service and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public hotel areas according to brand and hotel guest service and sustainability standards.
• Greet guests courteously and inspect assigned areas, performing cleaning tasks accordingly.
• Collect trash from service landings and dispose of it in outside dumpsters; vacuum and dust guest corridors.
• Pick up bed and other linen from hotel floors and deliver clean linen to assigned sections.
• Report maintenance issues and respond to guest inquiries and requests for help.
• Work as a room attendant when staffing is short or during peak periods, and keep guest areas clean and organized.
• Follow the EarthView sustainability program, practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience required or equivalent training preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull and lift up to 25 pounds, and to reach, bend and kneel.
• Shift work that may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts; use of cleaning chemicals.
