Part-Time Barback - Coaches Bar & Grill

About the role

Hilton Garden Inn Bloomington (Indiana) is hiring a part-time barback for its Coaches Bar & Grill. The barback prepares and services the hotel's bars in line with guest service and sustainability standards, with a growth path toward food runner, server and bartender.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge guests during barback tasks.
• Retrieve orders from the storeroom, check received stock against requisitions, and re-check items with the bartender upon delivery.
• Cut, slice and peel garnishes and fruit, and mix and pour juices according to projected business.
• Store backup supplies needing refrigeration and help the bartender keep supplies such as stir sticks, napkins and matches stocked.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to meet health code standards.
• Scoop and transport ice, box empty liquor bottles, and replace and maintain beer kegs.
• Follow the HHM EarthView sustainability program, safety equipment, MSDS and OSHA standards, and other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service or restaurant experience is a plus.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching; the schedule may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
