Host/Hostess - Part Time (PM Fine Dining Restaurant)

About the role

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson's Catalina Foothills is hiring a part-time Host/Hostess for its PM Fine Dining restaurant, Flying V. As the first point of contact for guests, you set the tone for their dining experience through a warm, professional greeting and precise management of reservations and guest flow.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally on arrival
• Manage reservations, walk-ins and waitlists using the hotel's reservation system
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Communicate estimated wait times and accommodate special seating requests when possible
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Answer phone calls and help with questions about hours, menus and reservations
• Coordinate with servers and managers for timely seating and guest satisfaction
• Monitor dining room flow and adjust seating plans as needed
• Assist with guest recovery and resolve minor concerns empathetically
• Follow hotel policies and procedures, attend regularly and reliably, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous hospitality, customer service or restaurant hosting experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and move around the restaurant

Required skills

• Familiarity with reservation systems
• Basic computer skills
