Hospice Aide – Night Shift (STNA Required)

About the role

The Hospice Aide works night shifts (9:00 pm‑5:00 am) providing compassionate care to hospice patients in homes, nursing facilities, or assisted living centers. This position supports the Southern Territory and the Hospice Care Center, working three 8‑hour nights per week with occasional weekend assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities and assist with physician‑ordered procedures under supervision.
• Help patients with personal care, activities of daily living, transfers, and transport.
• Report and document any changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment and keep documentation up‑to‑date.
• Escalate significant changes in patient condition to the physician as appropriate.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification listed on the Ohio Nurse’s Aide Registry.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with proof of $100,000/$300,000 automobile insurance.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (to be obtained during orientation).

Required skills

• Ability to provide basic nursing assistance and patient care.
• Capability to drive to patients’ homes or facilities and navigate stairs.
