Hospice Aide

About the role

Baptist Trinity Hospice, part of the LHC Group and the Optum family, provides home health, hospice and community-based services. As a Hospice Aide you support individuals so they can stay in their own homes, providing assistance with personal hygiene and household functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and help with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation and medication reminders
• Support household tasks, meal preparation and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed
• Monitor and document client condition, vital signs and incidents, keeping confidentiality and using the EVV system
• Keep a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly and respond promptly to client needs
• Work in any home situation regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability or financial condition

Required profile

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportation, or access to public transportation
• Tennessee requirement: 75 hours of training including 16 hours of clinical training before or during the first three months of employment, with qualification to provide basic services such as simple procedures, personal care for nutritional needs, ambulation and exercise, and household services essential to home care
• Preferred: current CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire, 6+ months of home care experience, and ability to work flexible hours and independently

What we offer

• Hourly pay of $14.00 to $23.85 for full-time employment, depending on factors such as local labor market, education, experience and certifications
