KidTown Child Care Associate

About the role

Midtown is looking for a KidTown/Child Care Associate to join its childcare team in Chicago. KidTown Associates inspire young members through movement, community and personal attention, encouraging active, social and healthier lives.

Key responsibilities

• Foster an environment of movement-based fun in a safe and comfortable setting
• Lead activities such as arts and crafts, story time and games
• Communicate positive and negative behaviors to parents at pick-up
• Create relationships with families
• Keep the space clean and germ-free so staff and children stay well
• Work with leadership to continuously improve KidTown and Varsity Club

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience working with children in an educationally supportive environment
• Comfortable with children from 8 weeks up to 15 years old
• Initiative and ownership, able to lead youth members with confidence and care
• Outstanding verbal communication with children and adults, patient, outgoing and friendly
• High energy, willing to grow with changing member needs and to maintain a positive attitude
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods and move quickly between sitting and standing

Required skills

• Child CPR, First Aid and AED certification required (training provided by Midtown)
