Child Protection Specialist

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist works within the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to protect children and strengthen families. The position involves handling hotline calls, conducting investigations, and supporting family reunification, foster care, and adoption processes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and assess child welfare hotline calls and determine appropriate response.
• Conduct investigations, prepare case reports, and maintain detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and community partners to ensure child safety.
• Facilitate family reunification, foster care placement, and adoption services.
