Help Desk Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Help Desk Specialist to join our client’s IT team in the west Houston area. This onsite, contract position serves as the first point of contact for end‑users, delivering prompt and courteous technical assistance primarily via phone and email. The role is ideal for candidates with 1‑2 years of technical support experience who are eager to grow in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems over the phone and through email tickets.
• Install, configure and update software applications on end‑user devices.
• Collaborate with IT teams to deploy hardware, perform software upgrades and roll out new equipment.
• Document all interactions in the ticketing system and maintain knowledge‑base articles.
• Escalate complex issues and follow up to ensure successful resolution.
• Participate in product testing, special projects and on‑call support as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1‑2 years of technical support experience, including phone‑based troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting LAN and WAN environments.
• STI or HDI Help Desk Analyst certification is a plus.
• Eligibility to work permanently in the United States.
