HealthMarket Clerk

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a HealthMarket Clerk in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This is an hourly, non-exempt position within the HealthMarket department, which is described as unique and growing. The clerk helps keep products fresh, the department clean and well-stocked, and customers feeling welcomed. No prior experience is required; training and support are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases and pass feedback to the team
• Offer product suggestions and answer questions; for homeopathic and natural wellness products, help customers locate items without giving medical advice
• Monitor product freshness and appearance, replenish and rotate stock, and anticipate daily product needs
• Check in product, put it away and review invoices as needed
• Follow sanitation procedures, keep the work area clean, remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department
• Work with teammates and comply with the dress code, hygiene standards and company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

Required profile

• No prior experience required; less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted
• Up to six months of similar or related experience preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, use basic math for simple calculations, communicate clearly and stay organized in a busy department

Physical requirements

• Frequent standing and walking, and repetitive standing, walking, reaching and bending
• Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades where applicable, and exposure to heat and burn hazards from cooking equipment
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in line with DOT standards where applicable
