Healthcare Architect / Studio Practice Leader

About the role

AE7's Cleveland office is looking for a Senior Architect to lead, develop, manage and grow its Healthcare Market Sector. The successful candidate has spent most of their career in healthcare and wellness, can lead business development, secure project work and manage staffing to meet project scopes and deadlines. The goal is to establish the firm as a domestic leader in healthcare and wellness, help secure such projects across the firm and build a thriving, stable healthcare studio.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with potential and active clients, create and maintain a client list and reconnect with clients annually or biannually
• Prepare project proposals defining the firm's role, scope of work and fee structures, and handle RFPs and client interviews
• Work with marketing and graphics to prepare marketing materials and keep project data current in the firm's database and website
• Act as the healthcare market sector leader at RFP query sessions and client interviews
• Explore alternative revenue-generating strategies and assist with content marketing
• Recruit, interview and recommend candidates, and help develop standards, office procedures and QA/QC methods for the healthcare sector
• Develop a team for hospital and healthcare pursuits, train staff and present at trade organizations and speaking events
• Travel as needed; desirable to help international offices secure healthcare and wellness work

Required profile

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in architecture or architecture interiors, mainly in healthcare and wellness
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
• Strong knowledge of FGI guidelines and other healthcare governing authority guidelines
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, strong written and verbal communication
