Health Unit Coordinator – Med/Surg (Evening Shift)

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator on the 5th Floor Complex Medical Care unit. You will provide administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth patient flow, exceptional customer service, and safety for medical‑surgical and orthopaedic patients during the evening shift.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, orient and welcome newly admitted or transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights, make rounds, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Guide patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and related documentation.
• Perform computer tasks such as updating schedules and managing patient information.
• Support unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures (call system, phones, WOWs, etc.).

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a customer‑service related role.
• Typing proficiency and basic computer training.
• Preferred: college degree and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
