About the role
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides front‑line customer service and administrative support to patients, families and staff within the Neurological Institute. The role ensures smooth operational flow so clinical teams can focus on patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Greet, orient and assist newly admitted or transferred patients and their families.
- Respond to patient call lights, make unit rounds and assist with wayfinding.
- Process admissions, transfers and discharges and maintain patient medical records.
- Troubleshoot unit equipment such as call systems, portable phones and work‑order devices.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of customer‑service experience.
- Ability to perform frequent data entry, stand and walk for extended periods.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Typing and basic computer skills.
