Health Aide PRN – Part‑Time Position

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a part‑time Health Aide (PRN) to support patient care at the Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta in Decatur, GA. This hourly, as‑needed position offers flexible shifts and direct interaction with clients to help them develop daily living skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
• Take vital signs, assist with medication administration, and collect specimens as directed.
• Conduct recreational and social activities for clients.
• Ensure client safety, transport clients to treatment areas, and assist with mobility.
• Observe, document, and report patient behavior and activity.
• Prepare clients for examinations and treatments.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in direct care, basic nursing procedures, or related training.
• Ability to work varied shifts (7 AM‑7 PM or 7 PM‑7 AM).
• Willingness to undergo state and national background checks.
• Experience in correctional settings or recent military service is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.

What we offer

• Hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $24.00 based on experience.
