Head Start Teacher – Early Childhood Educator

About the role

Join Acelero Learning Delaware as a Head Start Teacher and lead a classroom of 3‑5‑year‑old children. You will create a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports school readiness, literacy, language, and social‑emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a child‑centered curriculum that reflects each child’s interests, cultural background, and developmental needs.
• Conduct daily health checks, model positive behavior, and ensure a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers, families, and site leadership to foster strong home‑school partnerships, including home visits and parent‑teacher conferences.
• Integrate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for children with disabilities into daily instruction.
• Document and assess student progress using observations, anecdotal notes, and digital tools such as CreativeCurriculum.

Required profile

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement in early childhood education.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lb and actively engage with children throughout the day.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation; pass a physical exam and background check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CreativeCurriculum (digital curriculum platform).
