About the role
The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science seeks a half‑time lecturer to join its undergraduate meteorology program. The appointment begins in the spring semester of 2027 and carries a teaching load of two courses per semester.
Key responsibilities
- Teach up to three sections per year of Introduction to Weather and Climate for the broader student body.
- Deliver additional undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Python Programming and Climate Change.
- Potentially develop and teach a new general‑education course titled Hurricanes and Their Impacts starting fall 2028.
- Participate in teaching within the Master’s of Professional Science program as needed.
- Contribute to curriculum development and design new courses relevant to the department.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences or a closely related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated university‑level teaching experience.
- Ability to provide a statement of teaching philosophy and experience.
Required skills
- Python programming (for introductory course).
