Growth Strategist, Key Accounts (Deployment Strategist)
Clay · New York
Job description
About the role
Clay is building a new Key Accounts team within its Strategic GS segment, a senior team dedicated to its largest and highest-potential customers. As a founding member, you will be a strategic partner to a small number of influential companies, including Fortune 500 enterprises and leading AI companies, helping their revenue operations and marketing leaders change how they go to market with Clay. You will also help define how the segment engages, retains and grows Clay's most important relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Own a focused portfolio of strategic accounts and be the senior owner who knows each one best.
- Lead GTM transformation: set a multi-year vision with executive teams, define the jobs to be done and drive adoption across business units, regions and functions.
- Build C-suite relationships as a trusted advisor to CROs, CMOs and other executives, keeping Clay central to their GTM strategy.
- Define success metrics with leadership, measure them through data, surveys and interviews, and present business impact in executive business reviews.
- Coordinate Sales, Solutions, Support, Product and Engineering to run complex programs, handle escalations and manage risk.
- Partner with Sales to anticipate needs, deepen use cases and expand into new teams through cross-sell and upsell.
- Represent Clay's most influential customers internally and directly influence the product roadmap.
Required profile
- 8-10+ years in strategic account management, customer success or transformation consulting with Fortune 500 or similarly complex global organizations.
- Proven track record of building C-suite relationships and leading large-scale technology adoption or change programs.
- Experience owning renewals and consistently hitting iARR and GRR targets.
- Nice to have: a background in management consulting or strategy advisory.
Required skills
- Strategic thinking: setting a vision, building frameworks and turning product capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
- Executive presence: staying calm presenting to senior leaders in high-stakes situations and in conflict.
- Cross-functional leadership: leading without formal authority, both inside Clay and inside the customer's organization.
- Technical curiosity and a builder mentality: understanding the product deeply and energizing by shaping a new team's operating model from the ground up.
