Group Exercise Instructor – Cycle

About the role

The Group Exercise Instructor leads cycle classes at the Charlestown YMCA, creating a safe, enjoyable environment for participants of all fitness levels. Reporting to the Health and Wellness Director, you will help members develop healthy habits through engaging, inclusive instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun, and safe group cycle classes, adapting movements to meet participants' abilities and cultural needs.
• Answer member questions, track attendance in MotionVibe, and celebrate participant achievements.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends through YUSA courses and external training.
• Follow YMCA policies, respond to emergencies, and resolve member issues professionally.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience leading group exercise classes.
• Current nationally‑certified Group Exercise credential (ACE, AFFA, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc.).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse age groups and special populations.

Required skills
